Hill Street Work Days April- August 2026

 Get your hand dirty and  make a difference! Join us for a hands-on habitat restoration series as we remove invasive plants right in our local park, Hill Street. We are working with the Mount Prospect Park District on this collaborative effort! Hill Street Work Days: 9:30-11:30am 4/22 (Earth Day), 5/2, 5/12, 7/14, 8/1, 8/18  Register here. Go Green Mount Prospect’s First Native Plant Sale! 🌱 Go Green Mount Prospect will be hosting our first-ever Native Plant Sale ! This will be a great opportunity to preorder native plants throughout April and also purchase additional varieties on the day of the sale . More details about the event, preorder options, and day-of plant varieties will be shared soon. Add beautiful, pollinator-friendly native plants to your yard while supporting our growing community organization!

Intro to Native Gardens presentation Mount Prospect Public Library, Meeting Room B Sat. March 21st 10-11am Local Voices Series The Local Voices Series is an opportunity to hear from neighbors who have developed special knowledge or passion for a topic they’ve been exploring and putting into practice over the years. This event will take place in Meeting Room B at the Mount Prospect Public Library . Registration is encouraged , as space is limited to 30 people . This month’s presentation will be led by Robin Jennings , Secretary of Go Green Mount Prospect. Robin will share the benefits of native gardening , how to get started, and tips on choosing the right plants for your space. Attendees will leave with free native seeds and ideas for getting started on their own native garden this spring . Bring your questions to this presentation as there will be plenty of time to chat!

  Earth Day Celebration April 22 | 4:30–6:30 PM 📍 Woodland Trails Park Hosted by the River Trails Park District The River Trails Park District is hosting an amazing Earth Day event. Go Green Mount Prospect  will be joining them for an afternoon of Earth Day fun and hands-on activities for kids and families. Stop by our table for recycled craft projects , Earth Day poetry , and seedling planting to help inspire care for our planet. It’s a great way to celebrate Earth Day while learning simple ways we can all make a positive impact. River Trails Park District will also have a nature walk and a reptile show! 🌱 All ages welcome — come say hello and celebrate the Earth with us!

  Local Voices Series: Home Composting & Soil Building May 3 | 2–3 PM 📍 Mount Prospect Public Library, Meeting Room B Join us for the next Local Voices Series presentation featuring Anna Chubchenko , a local composter, neighbor, and Go Green Mount Prospect member. Anna will share her tips and tricks for building healthy soil and explain simple ways to start a home composting system . A Q&A session will follow the presentation , and attendees will leave with helpful resources and the knowledge to begin their own home composting journey . Space is limited to 30 so please register to save your seat. 🌱 Come learn how turning food scraps into compost can nourish your garden and reduce waste!

August 16th 10-1pm  Join us for a free native garden walk, touring Mount Prospect gardens that have incorporated natives into their landscapes.  Visit them at your own leisure, whether its walking, biking or driving to each of the homes.  At each house, find educational materials to have a more sustainable yard yourself.  This event is free to the public!
